Maria Castro Vainer is the Head of Business and Community Integration in JPMorgan Chase’s Community Impact Team. In this role Maria partners with senior leaders across the firm on the implementation of the firm’s $30 billion Racial Equity Commitment. Maria has held multiple roles at the firm. Most recently, she held the role of Global Head of Investments Governance for the Wealth Management business where she oversaw the global investment oversight framework for the global Private Bank and U.S. Wealth Management.

Maria is on the board of the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) which provides career opportunities for underserved youth through culinary school scholarships, job training, internships, and job placement. She is also a senior sponsor of the J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management Hispanic Leadership Forum and co-executive sponsor of Adelante Tri-State.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase & Co., Maria spent 10 years at Mariner Investment Group where she held the role of External Investments Risk Officer responsible for the evaluation of risk management processes of external hedge funds. Maria holds an M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business and a B.B.A. from Baruch College.
Maria lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two children.
